Hearst Netherlands, a subsidiary of the American parent company, is a publisher of (international) top brands such as ELLE, ELLE Decoration, ELLE Eten, Harper’s BAZAAR, Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health, Quote, Esquire and Men’s Health. Hearst offers advertisers access to female and male high-end consumers through magazines, (mobile) websites, apps and events.
Due to digitization and changing consumer behaviour, media has not only become multimedia, but, in addition to content, it is increasingly about services. In the creation of content and services, the following applies: content/service first, medium/platform second. This makes for a complex and busy work environment with different editing and working methods. All titles have their own copy, images and production.
Add structure
To structure and standardize the processes, Hearst has opted for an integrated best of breed solution. The goal of Hearst was to implement an Online Editing platform in addition to a Digital Asset Management solution, with which all Hearst titles can be formatted. Editing and design work seamlessly together in WoodWing Assets . The digital shelf of Dataplan is used to assess a complete publication. This integrated solution offers the editors of different titles the possibility to work with a standardized workflow and to publish the content in multiple channels.
